Silicon (Si) Windows

COE Optics' Silicon (Si) Windows manufactured from optical grade silicon with wavelength 1.2 - 7μm. Typically, with little or no distortion of the transmitted signal. Silicon has an advantage over other IR materials due to its low density (about half that of Zinc Selenide or Germanium), making it ideal for optical systems where weight is a significant factor.

Silicon windows have a good transmission in the range from 1.2 to 7.0 µm, with little or no distortion of the transmitted signal. Silicon window has an advantage over other IR windows due to its low density (about half that of Zinc Selenide or Germanium), making it ideal for optical systems where weight is a significant factor. Silicon windows are also more robust and less brittle than Germanium windows and have high thermal conductivity.

Silicon windows are used for a wide variety of applications, including, but not limited to:

• Amplifier Slabs, discs, and rods
• Debris Shields
• Laser fusion optics
• Reference surfaces
• Intelligence, surveillance & reconnaissance

Notes for Silicon Window:

(1). Custom-made Silicon windows at any size are available. Besides round/square, shapes of quadrate, triangular, or other polygonal are available.
(2). Thickness from 1.0mm to 80.0 mm is available upon request.
(3). All silicon windows are chamfered to avoid chips if no special requirements.
(4). Si Windows with Anti-Reflective(AR), High-Reflective(HR), Partial-Reflective(PR) coating are available.
