COE Optics' cold mirror is a specialized dielectric mirror, a dichroic filter, that reflects the entire visible light spectrum while very efficiently transmitting infrared wavelengths. Similar to hot mirrors, cold mirrors can be designed for an incidence angle ranging between zero and 45 degrees, and are constructed with multi-layer dielectric coatings, in a manner similar to interference filters. Cold mirrors can be employed as dichroic beamsplitters with laser systems to reflect visible light wavelengths while transmitting infrared.

COE Optics Cold Mirrors are mainly working in the conditions with resistance to damage from ambient temperatures of -45°C to +232°C. Cold mirrors are ideal for projection systems, where heat build-up can lead to system damage. Cold mirrors can be made of BOROFLOAT® glass, Corning Pyrex glass, Schott D 263, etc. Cold Mirrors can be cut to the desired size for any application.
